Inauguration of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge
On June 28, the inauguration ceremony of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, took place with the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities François-Philippe Champagne, dignitaries and guests, as well as employees and workers of SSL .
Earlier on June 24, the northbound corridor received an intense media coverage after four years of hard work.
The bridge opened to traffic in both directions since July 1 11 am
As planned, the teams proceeded to open the southbound corridor of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge on July 1 at 11:00 am, with a bright sun, after working all weekend to finalize the road access.
In the coming weeks, SSL will complete work to open the multi-purpose track by the end of summer-early fall. The multifunction track will be open all-year-long.
The operations and maintenance of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge are under the responsibility of Signature on the Saint-Lawrence Group for the next 30 years.
By the end of October 2019, once the final configurations of highway 15 will be done the project will be completed in its entirety.
