75th ACRGTQ convention – Signature on the Saint Lawrence wins the ACRGTQ Reconnaissance-mixité (diversity recognition) award

As part of its 75th anniversary, the Association des constructeurs de routes et grands travaux du Québec (ACRGTQ) highlights for the first time ever a contractor’s involvement in fostering women’s involvement in the construction industry. Marie-Claude Houle, chair of the ACRGTQ’s board of directors, presented the first Reconnaissance-mixité award to Signature on the Saint Lawrence. The award is sponsored by AON.

As the construction manager for the new Champlain Bridge, Signature on the Saint Lawrence is the organization that had employed in 2018 the highest number of women with an occupation competency certificate from the construction industry .

Signature on the Saint Lawrence is responsible for the construction of the new Champlain Bridge, a project that began in 2015.

ACRGTQ contributes to the achievement of shared objectives within the construction industry, namely valuing and fostering women’s access to construction trades and ultimately increase their numbers and share of the total workforce. CRQFA fully supports the objectives of the Programme d’accès à l’égalité des femmes (program for women’s equality) in the construction industry and believes that the industry must create an environment conducive to gender diversity and thus to the inclusion of women.
