Signature on the Saint Lawrence wishes to advise the St. Lawrence River users that in-water works were started on June 16, 2015, for the construction of the west jetty. This temporary work will be built from the north-east bank of Nun’s Island, and will extend 500 meters into the river. The jetty will remain in place until the end of 2018. Rip-rap placement activities will take place from the river bank, along with membrane installation performed from boats and barges. As well, geotechnical investigations are ongoing, also performed from anchored barges at several future pile locations.
