The East jetty for the New Champlain Bridge will be built to allow a construction area for the east portion of the new bridge. It will be built from the south shore and will extend 425 meters into the river. It will remain in place until 2019. It is important to note that the jetty reduces the navigation passage to 50 meters, causing a slight increase of current in the passage. A navigation corridor will clearly indicate the passage for the Petit Bassin region. Please be advised that it is forbidden and dangerous to enter the St. Lawrence Seaway if unauthorised. Consult our Notice to mariners.
