Demolition of the existing median on Highway 15

The demolition of the existing median on Highway 15, which began in early October, will continue this weekend between LaSalle Boulevard and Wellington Street.

As announced during the public information meeting held on September 14 for Verdun and South-West residents, Signature on the Saint-Laurent will be demolishing the existing median (concrete blocks separating the northbound and southbound lanes) on Highway 15. A removable median will be set up in its place. This work is designed to facilitate any future lane relocations required to widen this part of the highway.

The work will begin on Saturday, November 7 at 7:00 am and will finish on Monday, November 9 at 5:00 am. A supervisor from our Environment team will be on site to ensure compliance with all environmental requirements, including those pertaining to noise and air quality.

This work is part of the hindrances already planned by The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI):

  • Complete closure of the Champlain Bridge to Montreal-bound traffic
  • Closure of accesses on Highway 15 northbound from Bonaventure Highway to the Turcot Interchange
  • Closure of the left-hand lane of Highway 15 southbound between Atwater and Gaétan Laberge

This work may be delayed due to inclement weather conditions.
