SSL to begin the salvage operation of the Océan Uannaq tugboat tomorrow

The salvage of the Uannaq, the tugboat that sank on April 1 at the New Champlain Bridge worksite, will begin on May 26, 2016. The operation is expected to take two or three days.

The salvage plan has been approved by the appropriate authorities, including the Canadian Coast Guard and Transport Canada, and will be carried out in keeping with the environmental and health and safety rules applicable in such circumstances.

The operation will take place on assembled barges from which a crane will raise the tugboat. Once the boat is afloat, it will be docked for examination.
