Model of the New Champlain Bridge on Display at the Elgar Community Centre on L’Île-des-Soeurs

For a few days now, visitors have had a chance to see a scale model of the new Champlain Bridge from up close at the Elgar Community Centre on L’Île-des-Soeurs.

The model, which was built by Montreal’s Atelier Dédale, can be seen in the centre’s entrance hall, right near the library.

It is made of linden wood and shows a 1-km stretch of the 3.4-km bridge.

The bridge has three corridors: two for road traffic and a middle corridor for public transit.

Its signature feature is the cable-stayed portion, with its main pylon and cables.

We would like to thank our partner, the Verdun Borough, for letting us exhibit the model at the Elgar Centre throughout the month of October.
