New site exit for better health and safety conditions

Signature on the Saint Lawrence (SSL) would like to inform you that part of the currently blocked off La Riveraine bike path (Route Verte), which runs behind Turenne Street, will be used as an exit route for the construction site until the end of the work in September 2019. The site’s current exit, located under the bridge, is problematic because it is deemed dangerous for workers and drivers. The new setup is planned to come into effect the week of September 19, 2016.

This will be a one-way access, used by an estimated 150 light vehicles and 20 trucks daily from Monday to Friday. At times, this access will also be used at night and on weekends for specific activities. Proper signage will be put up and no local streets will be used, since vehicles will be exiting directly onto the 132 west access ramp. The interior of the ramp will also be modified for use as a parking area for workers.

The bike path will be reinforced and widened to allow for heavier traffic.SSL undertakes to return the bike path to its current condition at the completion of the construction.

We are aware that this new layout may lead to certain inconveniences in your area. For safety reasons, we ask you not to use the bike path which will be closed off. Our drivers are instructed to drive carefully and the maximum authorized speed is 15 km/h.
