Due to the work being done for the New Champlain Bridge Corridor project and the jetty downstream from the current Champlain Bridge, the ice regime is likely to change.  We expect the ice to be thinner and less stable throughout the winter season.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation strictly forbids circulation on the ice. All access is prohibited, and all activities such as cross-country skiing kite surfing and ice fishing are not allowed on the Petit Bassin La Prairie.

Failure to obey these instructions could lead to a serious and even fatal accident. The Signature on the Saint Lawrence team wants to thank you in advance for complying with the ban at all times.
