Update on 2018 cycling season: bicycle path closures on the Seaway dike at the new Champlain Bridge work site
Update on 2018 cycling season: Bicycle path closures on the Seaway dike at the new Champlain Bridge work site (between the Saint-Lambert locks and the Champlain Bridge ice control structure)
For the 2018 cycling season, Signature on the Saint Lawrence will maintain the bicycle path on the Seaway dike between the Saint-Lambert Locks and the Champlain Bridge ice control structure for most of this period.
To ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists in this section of the dike, and despite the fact that work is being done at height, a protected corridor has been created along the work site. Please use this corridor at all times and follow instructions next to the corridor.
During high-risk work, Signature on the Saint Lawrence will occasionally need to temporarily close the bicycle path on the Seaway dike on both sides of the existing Champlain Bridge for safety reasons until the new bridge is opened.
These closures will be communicated 24 hours ahead of time on our Twitter account, insofar as possible, as well as through e-mail alerts sent to the mailing list. To sign up for the list, please send your e-mail to the following link.
Three signs have also been set up at strategic locations to communicate the information ahead of time. While travelling by bicycle, please keep an eye out for the dates and times regarding future closures.
Thank you for your cooperation and have a safe cycling season.
