Complete closure of René-Lévesque Blvd. (near the worksite) from June 25 (5 a.m.) to the end of August 2019*

As part of the construction of the New Champlain Bridge Corridor Project, Signature on the Saint Lawrence wishes to inform road users of a major disruption on L’Île-des-Sœurs. There will be a complete closure of René-Lévesque Blvd. between the Champlain Bridge and the Claude-Robutel Roundabout from Tuesday, June 25, 2019 (5 a.m.) to the end of August 2019.

This complete closure is part of the construction work of the new René-Lévesque Blvd., which requires extensive excavations. Further details are available in the Neighbourhood Committee’s presentation dated May 16, 2019 (starting on page 53):

Please note that a traffic lane, along with a pedestrian walkway and bike path, have already been implemented. In case of a closure of that link, a shuttle for pedestrian will be put in place during that period.

As during previous complete closures of René-Lévesque Blvd., accommodations are in place to optimize circulation on L’Île-des-Sœurs Blvd. A traffic light gives Pointe Nord road users access to Hwy-15 South and the Champlain Bridge, whereas some access points near the Place du Commerce Roundabout have been expanded to two lanes. Finally, the STM will benefit from a reserved lane.

Here are our recommended routes for Pointe Sud and Pointe Nord road users on L’Île-des-Sœurs who wish to access the Bonaventure Expressway to reach the downtown area (Centre-Ville, Hwy-10 West), Hwy-15 North or Hwy-15 South:
