Signature on the Saint Lawrence (SSL) would like to remind the South Shore cycling community that, in connection with the construction of the new Champlain Bridge, La Riveraine bike path between Rome and Simard boulevards in Brossard has been diverted to ensure users’ safety. This detour will be maintained until 2019.

Significant trucking activities, heavy machinery traffic and crane-assisted lifting operations are expected to take place near the river’s edge, downstream of the existing Champlain Bridge, over the next three years. 

Working with the cities of Brossard and Saint-Lambert and Vélo Québec, SSL developed a map of the bike path detour in the fall of 2015, as well as signage indicating the altered route.

SSL would like to thank cyclists for their understanding while making them aware of the dangers involved in deviating from the established route. 

The map below shows the exact locations where La Riveraine bike path is closed to traffic, along with the detour route.
