Update on the works and traffic management

Verdun: Highway 15 South

The team assigned to the highway portion of the project are finalizing the widening of the A-15 South until the new bridge of Nuns’ Island and work on its partial opening planned for the summer 2018. In anticipation of this work, a weekend closure (from Friday, May 18 at 10:00 pm to Tuesday, May 22 at 5:00 am) is expected in the Gaetan Laberge sector for the entrance of the A15-S, to put the finishing touches on the new approaches.

Throughout the year, many disruptions will take place especially during the weekends. Stay informed by visiting our website for newsletters and specific notices for major closures, by paying attention to the signs in place but also by consulting the Waze navigation application (Web / Android / iOS). You will avoid unpleasant surprises.

In the coming weeks, under Atwater, Lasalle Boulevard and Wellington Street overpasses, we will be doing finishing work that includes, among other things, the installation of architectural panels. Our work will take place at night to minimize the impact on traffic during the day. SSL is confident of being able to do this night work while meeting the noise criteria including in the Project Agreement.

Le Sud-Ouest: Highway 15 North

Once traffic is diverted to the new A15-South portion, SSL will be able to complete the demolition of the A15-North while continuing to install the new overpasses from Atwater Ave., Lasalle boul. and Wellington Street. Eventually, during the summer of 2018, weekend closures will be held for the girder’s installation of the new viaducts. The more precise dates of these closures will be communicated at the Good Neighbourly Relations Committee and / or via our other communication tools.

Work schedule

SSL has greatly accelerated the pace for the construction of the new Champlain Bridge: work could extend into evenings, nights and weekends. In spite of this more sustained rhythm, the night works will be limited to less noisy activities.

Noise management on work site

SSL makes frequent checks to make sure noise standards established in the partnership agreement with the Government of Canada are being met. Our website’s Citizens’ forum tab has a Works and Impacts section where you can take note of our noise monitoring results.
