[Updated] Closure of the Multi-Use Pathway Look-Outs on the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge

[Update – May 1st, 2020 – 11:15 PM] The Multi-Use Pathway Look-Outs on the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge are now reopened

[Original article] To promote compliance with public health guidelines related to Covid-19, Groupe Signature sur le Saint-Laurent (SSLG) is closing the four pathway look-outs on the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge starting at 8:00 AM, Friday, April 10, 2020. This decision was made in consultation with Infrastructure Canada and Sûreté du Québec officials, who have increased surveillance in recent days.

Additional measures may be implemented depending on how the situation develops and the level of compliance with public health directives, especially regarding the ban on public assembly.

Protecting the health and safety of Samuel De Champlain pathway users is a priority. SSLG Operations and Maintenance teams will continue monitoring the pathway and take appropriate measures to ensure safe use.

Before using the multiuse pathway, users should keep up to date with the evolving situation by consulting our website at www.pontsamueldechamplain.ca, Twitter, Facebook and the variable message signs at the entrances to the multi-use pathway.

Preventing the transmission of the virus is everyone’s responsibility. SSLG and Infrastructure Canada are counting on pathway users’ collaboration in complying with public health guidelines.
