Where are the peregrine falcon nesting boxes located? Doesn’t highway traffic on the bridge disturb the species?

Overlooking the Saint Lawrence River, the Samuel De Champlain Bridge provides an ideal habitat for the peregrine falcon. This type of habitat also offers the bird protection from predators and harsh weather conditions.

Three nesting boxes are strategically installed along the bridge, allowing for the closure of boxes when maintenance work is planned nearby. This encourages the falcon to nest in the box that remains open, thereby keeping it as far away as possible from the workers performing maintenance or repairs on the bridge.
